Kathie Krumm hopes her combination of analytic background and practical
experience can assist Stanford students to better manage their personal finances.
She worked with the World Bank for over 25 years. Dr. Krumm holds a Ph.D in
economics from Stanford University, with MBA courses in finance at the University
of Chicago. In her economic advisory and management positions with the World
Bank, Kathie worked on financial sector issues throughout the developing country
world, notably, East Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa, in the context of growth and
poverty reduction. Earlier in her career she also worked with Banco Central de
Argentina and the private multinational banking sector. She manages her own
personal finances as well as advises family members, including her Stanford alum
son. From them, she has realized the importance and ease of filling gaps in financial
literacy.
